Tips for Drivers

  • Texting and driving is MORE DANGEROUS than drinking and driving.
  • Keep a pencil in your glove compartment in case of an accident in the wintertime - ballpoint pens freeze, led does not.
  • The most important piece of information to get at the scene of an accident is the plate number of all vehicles involved.
  • Make sure you are regularly rotating your tires and performing routine maintenance.
  • Turn your headlights on in the rain - if they are usually set to automatic, double check that they're on.
  • New drivers have a 50% chance of an accident within the first 6 months.
  • Check your sideview mirrors in areas with high-bicycle traffic.
  • When in doubt, yield.
